Wow, the Simpsons debuted 20 years ago and are fast approaching their 500th episode!! But don't think that means they'll be slacking any time soon. Lady Gaga is set to guest star in an upcoming episode. "The great thing about having Lady Gaga is that she came in a number of times and always with a different getup," [Creator] Groening says of the pop superstar. "Like she'd leave the room and come back in after a break in a completely new getup. It was unbelievable. The only time that she ever took off her hat was when it was banging into the microphone."

The true meaning behind the 'Marry The Night' video
Lady Gaga is nothing if not a storyteller. And this particular musical yarn may be her best yet. At the very least, it's her most personal.
E! News not only has the exclusive premiere of Gaga's "Marry the Night" music video, but sat down with Mother Monster herself to get the artist's own take on this 13-minute autobiographical opus.
"It was one of the worst days of my life and it happened quite quickly, but in my mind, when I think back on that period of my life, it all happened very slow."
And now, Little Monsters, she's sharing that day with us all.
Gaga explained that the video is a rendering of the day she thought she saw her dreams slipping away from her—when she was dropped from her first label, Island Def Jam.
"It is my personal way of seeing things," she said. "If you give up after something like that, you were never destined to be an entertainer."
As for what, exactly, she means by "Marry the Night," loyal fans already know that it's a love song of sorts to New York City. But the video is more than that—about marrying, as it were, your own personal obstacles.
"In order to be great writing music," or whatever else it is someone wants to do, she said, "you have to acknowledge what is wrong with your work, or what is dishonest about it. What have I not been really great at?"
We'll assume that's a rhetorical question, since we'd be hard-pressed to find any faults with Gaga's ever-growing oeuvre. So what does Gaga find to be her biggest obstacle?
"I don't know, I don't have an answer to that question. I love the obstacles. To marry your obstacles mean I, the artist, wholeheartedly accept everything you throw at me, I am destined to struggle, I am destined to write music about the struggle, and I accept it willingly."
One thing that's obviously not an obstacle to this bare-all artiste is her well-toned bod, which gets some ample showing-off time in her new video. And not just skin for skin's sake; those dramatic, intense nude scenes, she says, were the most real.
"Well, I was naked in real life when it happened," she said, referring to the moment she found out she'd been dropped. "That's probably the most honest moment in that video of everything I've ever done. My directorial decision was for them to just f--king roll the cameras, because I couldn't go in and out of the moment.
"I wonder if I will actually release that scene in its entirety—it's about 30 minutes long."
As for the intense aesthetic of the video, Gaga said, "It was intensely important to me that it was not too beautiful. It was an incredible experience. It was amazing. It was absolutely amazing."
And as for her solo creative direction efforts? How'd that go?
Despite her recent amicable parting of ways with longtime collaborator Laurieann Gibson, it was creative business as usual on the shoot.
"I have always been the creative director, and the House of Gaga has always been the creative force behind what we've done. There really aren't many tremendous changes.
"I know it's my directorial debut, but I've really created everything I've ever done in my career. I really didn't do anything differently on this video that I didn't do on the 'Telephone' video or the 'Paparazzi' video or the 'Bad Romance' video.
"I hope my fans will take from this the progression that you have to trust yourself to make mistakes."
And not to take yourself too seriously.
Intense though the video is, it isn't without its levity.
"I always believe that you walk the line of humor if you're being so incredibly serious," she explained. "There's something quite comical about the opening of the video, even though it's quite sinister and dark."
Indeed, the opening, nonmusical minutes of the video bring the laughs, some of which are even at the expense of—gasp!—fashion.
"It's meant to be comical," she said, adding that fashion serves as a metaphor in the video. And that the video itself serves as a window into the heart and mind of Gaga.
"In essence, it's insight into my entire creative process and the way that I view things."

Last night we all watched 'A Very Gaga Thanksgiving' on ABC, and it was amazing. One moment in particular was very sweet and heartfelt, so I wanted to share it again with all of you little monsters out there. Here is a picture of Great Grandpa Monster, Gaga's grandfather, for whom she wrote 'The Edge of Glory'. Below I have transcribed the conversation between Katie Couric and Gaga, describing why she wrote the song and what it meant to her. Very touching.
Katie Couric: "The 'Edge of Glory' is dedicated to your Grandfather, and I know he died last year. He was a very important part of your life, wasn't he?"
Gaga: "Yes. Well, it's not just dedicated to him, it was written about him while he was dying and I wrote a song about a very specific moment that I saw my Grandma and Grandfather share. They have been married for sixty years, and the stories that my Grandma used to tell me about my Grandpa... sleeping in a car on the street just so he could be near her while she was at home... because, you know, they were Italian and very, very strict, you know? There was no way that Grandpa was sleeping over at Grandma's house when she was a kid. The love, and the romance... My Grandpa, he's a veteran, he's a saint. He was the most wonderful man, and when I saw her say 'goodbye' to him I just realized in that moment that they both acknowledged that they had won at life, because they won - in love with each other."

“We lost a Little Monster this week,” Lady Gaga said at the iHeartRadio Show Saturday. “I wanted to dedicate this song to him tonight because he was really young.”
“I wrote this record about how your identity is really all you’ve got when you’re in school… So tonight, Jamey, I know you’re up there looking at us, and you’re not a victim. You’re a lesson to all of us. I know it’s a bit of a downer, but sometimes the right thing is more important than the music.”

Vintage Gaga - Getting a tattoo from Kat Von D!!
“Vintage” footage of Lady Gaga in a back alley before she was the biggest name in pop music has surfaced. No, it’s not of the she-was-young-and-needed-the-money-sort, either. As if! The clips are of Gaga getting inked in a questionable location by celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D, late of ‘LA Ink’ and ‘Miami Ink.’ Kat tatts Gaga in an alley, working out of a hatchback!
Gaga, dressed in skintight blue, disco-style spandex pants that look like she borrowed them from Superman and then deconstructed ‘em herself, and a flimsy top, tells Kat that she is an artist who also writes songs for other people. She reveals that has just moved to L.A. and has written for New Kids on the Block Oh, how hindsight is 20/20.
Gaga’s hair is blond, hangs past her shoulders and is finished off by blunt bangs. This was one of her earliest looks as she began to ascend the ranks of fame and it’s one she has not returned too much! She is also rocking huge sunglasses. She reveals that she is 22, so this was just three years ago, as any self-respecting little monster knows that Gaga is now 25.
We’ve heard of selling tapes and CDs out of a trunk, but getting a tattoo out of one? It’s not exactly sanitary, but it’s what happens here, as Kat stashes the tools of her trade in the trunk of a red car and Gaga sits on a stool and gets her lower back inked in an alley. The ink Gaga gets from Kat is a continuation of the tatt that comes down from her rib cage and twists across her lower back. No, it’s not a tramp stamp. This is Lady Gaga we’re talking about.
Gaga’s shapely booty is in Kat’s face the entire time, as she talks about elegance of tattoos, and comments that she thinks Kat’s very beautiful and her tattoos, are too. It’s worth noting that she still sounds like the same ol’ Gaga in interviews. She is friendly, open and sweet now and she was then. She has not changed how she speaks to people, despite her rocket ride to fame. We love that she still had the same revealing and outrageous fashion sense while she was on her way up, too. Granted, she has pushed the envelope even more now, simply because she can — but back then, it was still heels, skintight clothes and flashes of her porcelain skin.
Gaga speaks about her Italian family and eating homemade meatballs. We know them now as the Germanottas, but back then, this clip is just about a struggling pop star who is referencing her tight-knit, Italian family. She says her family had “a heart attack” when she got her first tattoo, too.

Jo Calderone opens 2011 MTV VMAs
Lady Gaga took the stage to open the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night (August 28), and to no one's surprise, she tore the roof off Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre with a gutsy performance of her hit single "Yoü and I" in character as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone The pop star emerged on the dark, empty stage wearing a loose black suit and T-shirt with slicked-back dark hair and a lit cigarette. As Calderone, Gaga then started into an emotional, near four-minute monologue about his tortured relationship with the pop star. "Lady Gaga, she left me," he started. "She said it always starts out good. ... She said I'm just like the last one."

Lady Gaga to guest star on The Simpsons!
"I make music, but I don't do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor. That's what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being sincere as I could with the lines."
Gaga also revealed that, in the upcoming episode, she and Marge will be sharing a kiss! "I play a little bit of a slut" she says. "The apple doesn't fall far from my artistic tree!"
How wonderful! I can't wait!

Mother Mons†er cries, moved by performance on So You Think You Can Dance
Mother Mons†er is never afraid to show her true heart and feelings. That's one of the things I love most about her. Watch the clip above of Fox's 'So You Think You Can Dance' where Gaga was a guest judge. The contemporary dance piece is so emotional, heart felt, and inspiring that it brings Mother Mons†er to tears.
