On Monday, November 21, 2011, Lady Gaga officially opened Gaga's Workshop at Barneys Department Store in New York (in a fabulous, custom designed gown by world renowned head designer of Chanel - Karl Lagerfeld).
The worskshop is located inside of Barney's flagship store and touts a massive square footgae of 5,500 feet. The workshop, filled with jagged mirrors, bright colors, crazy shapes, and a giant cartoon statue of the singer, was conceived, designed, and christened by Mother Monster herself.
"It's a 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' moment," Gaga said. "We wanted it all to be whimsical and fun, with a sense of art and fashion".
Items for sale range from studded leather motorcycle jackets for infants, Gaga Christmas ornaments, special edition Gaga snow globes, hundreds of headbands adorned with bows, iPhone and iPad covers, candies, cookies, lollipops (all featuring Mother Monster), hologram nail polishes, tons of toys, jewelry, accessories, and even a pair of $4,000 heel-less boots.
Gaga herself says that all items are designed to run the gamut of price and aim to appeal to many different ages.
It was also very important to Mother Monster that her workshop have a charitable aspect to it as well. For each product purchased from the Workshop or online, 25% of the sale will be donated to Gaga's anti-bullying Born This Way Foundation.
Gaga's workshop will be open through January 2. You can also purchase many of the goods online at http://bit.ly/tnv1CR
Happy shopping, Little Monsters!!
