I got an email from Cynthia Germanotta - AWESOME!!

It's been a busy couple of weeks, Mary.

And right now we are looking forward to what's next, and we're hoping you'll be a part of it.

Already we have received thousands of stories from people telling us what bravery means to them, but we still haven't heard from you. Will you take a moment to tell your story?

Advocates of bravery from across the globe opened up their lives to us with stories that ranged from heartwarming to tear-jerking to simply inspiring. Here are a couple of our favorites.

Bravery means...

Being yourself because that's who you are, not being who people want you to be.
-Jaay C. from California

Being who you are. And thanks to my little sister that was born with Down syndrome who showed me that nothing is impossible and that it's the little things that make you unique.
-Jean E. from Virginia

As a USAF veteran, a lesbian, and a mentor for a LGBTQS Youth Group, the word "bravery" holds a spectrum of different meanings for me. Bravery means the courage to put your life on the line to go into battle. Bravery means being yourself despite the pressure that family, friends and society places on you to be someone different.
-Ashley from Kentucky

Hopefully these stories inspire you to share your own. Write in to the Born This Way Foundation today:

My daughter and I are thrilled by everything we've heard so far, and we look forward to hearing from you too.

Thanks for your support.

All the best,

Cynthia Germanotta
